The Aircraft Awareness app is an efficient, effective, & easy to use on-demand tool for aircraft servicing and familiarity. Developed by an aviation trainer, this modernizes aircraft training education. It has been launched to excel knowledge to the next level safely, as efficiently as possible.
The wide range of aircrafts serviced in private aviation can easily be overwhelming to remember. What makes Aircraft Awareness so great, is you no longer have to. We specifically identify service area locations on over 30 different aircrafts. Service area locations include fueling (including single point or overwing), GPU, lavatory, & potable water. For aircrafts not yet included, go to the ADS section (located in every aircraft section) to find a similar aircraft with similar service area locations. That’s not all; Towing is a big deal in aviation and also a key component. That’s why we included information on aircraft gear pins, and a steering disconnects. This allows a person to get the information they need in just 2 clicks. No more guessing, asking pilots, nor feeling incompetent about not knowing where to go to complete any service on an aircraft.
Choose the aircraft of choice. For this example, we chose the Global Express. Once you have chose an aircraft you will enter into a portal area to find the applicable ADS, FUELING, GPU, LAVATORY, POTABLE WATER, STEERING DISCONNECT, OR GEAR PINS. Each one of these sections includes the location of the service area and a helpful tip when servicing that specific area. Note, not all aircrafts will have the same service areas.
The ADS provides aircrafts that are similar to the aircraft you have selected as well as the wingspan, length, and tail height of an aircraft. In addition, it informs you if the aircraft fueling is single point or overwing, what type of GPU the aircraft takes (28 VDC, 115 VAC), and what service areas the aircraft may or may not have. Plus, it shows if the aircraft has gear pins or requires a steering disconnect for towing operations.
The tools in this section include what knowledge is most important and commonly used in aviation. The phonetic alphabet, aviation glossary, international registration codes (IRC), converting standard time to military time, airports signage, and more. It can serve as a refresher section or a study guide, but it’s main purpose is to make it easier for new as well as senior employees to retain the basic knowledge needed in aviation.
This section was created to maximize the effort in easily understanding the rules that keep us safe when fueling, by simplifying the information. Keeping the focus on part 139, section 321 is what this section of the app also excels in. For example, it contains information on what to do and what not to do when a fuel spill occurs, including what protocol applies when lightning is near. Specially created, easy to remember DOT/UN fueling signs. Signage includes flashpoint temperatures, auto-ignition temperatures, rate of flame spread, DOT/UN placard numbers, plus product identification labels for Jet A, Jet A-1, Jet B, and Avgas.
Yes! In addition to guiding the where and how for service area's like lavatory, fueling, potable water, etc. there are easy-to-use tools about jet fuels, military time conversion, an aviation glossary, phonetic alphabet, plus more. Also, there's educational safety material created based off part 139, section 321 fire training.
